Debbie, the awesome travel blogger at https://wanderlustcalls.com/ bestowed this award on me. Thanks dear. This page details what the award is all about and it is worth checking out.In the spirit of the award I will answer some great questions posed by Debbie and nominate other bloggers for this award, who I hope will also play along and answer some questions I will list at the end. I will nominate 3 bloggers because I have not connected to many bloggers yet.
1. What is your top goal for your blog in 2017?
Mmmm… interesting question, let me see… I am happy to see people connecting with me through my blog and hope it continues. I enjoy blogging as a hobby to share about my other hobby, travelling and other things related to my life. I hope blogging never becomes a chore.
2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
Hands down, the people I connect with. I use to blog before and stopped for a few years. I remember the great people I met on that space, many of whom have become friends. I have much to share about my biggest hobby – travelling and enjoy contributing to the wealth of information for those interested.
3. What would you say is your best quality?
My friends say I am a good listener. I agree.
4. What was your favourite blog post that you wrote?
I like http://kimssojourn.com/2016/09/21/travelling-the-world-on-a-passport-from-a-developing-country-is-expensive best because it is not a topic many major travel bloggers experience or talk about.
5. How many countries have you visited and which one was your favourite and why?
I have been to over 30 countries. I stopped counting because I do not want my travels to be about the number of countries I visit. I used to think this way and was reluctant to visit a country more than once because I was adding up numbers… It is hard to have a favourite, since there are bits and pieces of many countries I have visited that I like, love and will return to experience again.
6. What are your top three travel destinations for 2017?
Well I am going to Ubud (long stopover in Singapore, I was there for a few days at the start of the year) in a few weeks, then home (Jamaica) for summer – hoping to take a jaunt over to Havana briefly and I would love to visit Machu Picchu, Mexico City and Bogota in December. I am still thinking about the latter and budgeting…
7. What inspired you start blogging?
Again? LOL. I wanted to have a space again to write about the things I am doing in my life and dealing with. Though my travel posts get lots of likes, I started writing again as a way to share about living with fibroids, life in Japan and travel.
8. What was the best thing that happened to you in 2016?
One thing! There are so many. Ok, doing a safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater was a big dream come true. The next two blogs will showcase my experience.
9. What would be your top tip for someone considering starting a blog?
Write about what you like, write for yourself and do not be distracted by bigger blogs in your niche. Also be consistent, engage with readers and go at your own pace.
10. What’s your life motto?
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
