I get to a destination and instantly I am lost in wonder, mouth agape, eyes all bugged out taking it all in, camera somewhere hanging out in my bag – forgotten.
I soon remember to take pics for the blog and get them just right. Pretty soon I lose the wonder in my steadfast focus of getting the pics just right. Yeah in my dreams. I don’t take pics for the blog that seriously, I am more about soaking up that indescribable feeling of embracing a long sought after destination for the first time.
I do need some pics after all eh or it didn’t happen so here are a few tips on balancing being in the moment and taking pictures too:
Take Some time to Soak up the Experience
Feast your eyes on the wonder before you. Yes, the light might be so perfect now but just take a moment to take it all in, you will never have another first impression.
Take a Bunch of Pictures and get it Over with
Snap snap more snapping, get a whole bunch of pictures for the blog, Insta and just because. It is great to look back through pictures and reminisce. There are more awesome memories to be had looking back on those pictures for years to come.
Go Back to Soaking up the Stuff Before your Naked Eyes
I remember my first view of the Taj Mahal. I spent a day there just soaking up the monument and enjoying every last cent of my $25 dollars – yes I sure did. It had been a dream of mine to see it for so long so I sure was gonna balance being in the moment and snapping like a thousand pics – no joke.
I moved around, viewed it from different angles, and basically fed my eyes for a good half a day.
Take the time to live the experience and not just use it for a photo op.
Balance the thing y’all.
Remember to stay in the moment and soak up all the goodness around you.Don’t get caught up experiencing it all behind the camera lens. Don’t cheat yourself.by
